ASI’s Revolutionary ESP Celebrates 25 Years Of Innovative Technology

Latest ESP upgrades include advanced searching, shipping estimator and presentations

TREVOSE, PA –January 5, 2015 – The Advertising Specialty Institute® (ASI) kicked off a year-long celebration of the 25th anniversary of its flagship product, the revolutionary ESP® promotional product sourcing system,  this week at ASI Orlando 2015, complete with demonstrations, a brass band and giveaways.

ESP was first envisioned by ASI Vice Chairman Matthew Cohn in his college dorm room. Launched in 1990, ESP quickly became the premier resource for promotional products professionals. By 1996, the largest searchable database of products in the industry reached a milestone of 10,000 users. ESP became available online in 2003. Today, three out of four industry searches occur in ESP, with nearly 73 million product and supplier searches conducted in ESP and ESP Mobile™ in 2014 alone.

“After a quarter-century of providing distributors, suppliers and decorators with the best technology in the business, ESP remains the industry gold standard for excellence,” said Timothy M. Andrews, ASI president and chief executive officer. “Each year, ASI invests millions of dollars into the technology powering ESP, to give users the best available shopping, searching and marketing experience. We hope everyone joins us in celebrating the 25th anniversary milestone of our signature product brand this year.  I can’t wait to see what we deliver to customers throughout the next 25 years.”

Recently, ASI released the latest set of ESP upgrades, allowing users to:

  • Search quantity and price independently
  •

  • Estimate shipping and freight by package or package weight
  •

  • Enjoy more professional-looking presentations
  •

  • Add customized products quicker and more easily
  •

And, distributors can discover new products more easily with expanded visibility of product recommendations in the enhanced “Product Quick View.”

“After a quarter-century of providing distributors, suppliers and decorators with the best technology in the business, ESP remains the industry gold standard for excellence,” said ASI CEO Timothy M. Andrews.
