ASI Names Fastest-Growing Canadian Promo Products Companies

Toronto-based supplier StickerYou tops list at No. 1

TREVOSE, PA – June 22, 2017 – Toronto-based supplier StickerYou (asi/89791) topped the 2017 list of fastest-growing promotional products companies in Canada, released today by ASI’s SGR™ magazine.

SGR is published by the Advertising Specialty Institute® (ASI). The award-winning B-to-B magazine delivers news from across the globe to suppliers throughout the $22.9 billion North American promotional products industry.

StickerYou reported 273% growth from 2014 to 2016. The supplier specializes in colorful stickers, labels, packaging, magnets and decals. President Andrew Witkin founded the company in 2008 after noticing the many ways stickers played a role in the local Los Angeles, CA, culture and devising a way to produce affordable yet awesome die-cut stickers. Witkin attributes the company’s most recent success to investments in top-of-the-line die-cut and automation technology, which has garnered new customers numbering in the thousands.

“They want no minimums and an easy-to-use online interface to order custom sticky products,” said Witkin. “We invest the majority of our profits in more technology and people to better service our customers.” He adds that the company is aiming for another 25% increase in gross sales by 2019.

SGR’s list was determined by the percentage each company grew between 2014 and 2016. A company must have at least $200,000 in sales for the first year considered, and at least $1 million in sales for the most recent year. The fastest-growing Canadian companies are:

  • StickerYou, 273% growth
  • DML Creation (asi/48031), 103%
  • Bravo Awards Ltd. (asi/41638), 97%
  • White Paper Office Solutions (asi/359726), 73%
  • Justin Case (asi/63698), 72%
  • Redwood Classics Apparel (asi/81627), 41%
  • Brand Blvd (asi/145124), 23%
  • BCG Creations (asi/37693), 21%
  • Genumark (asi/204588), 9%

The list will appear in the September/October issue of SGR, available in print and online.

Michele Bell, SGR editor and ASI’s executive director of editorial and marketing services, said of the companies on this year’s list, “The resiliency of the suppliers and distributors on our list never fail to amaze me. Each one has demonstrated impressive growth in the face of stiff economic challenges, which clearly proves their ingenuity, business mettle and competitive spirit. I’m looking forward to seeing how much they can accomplish on both sides of the U.S. and Canadian border in the coming year.”

Canada’s oil price collapse, which began in 2014, slowed the country’s economy, but according to a recent report from the Conference Board of Canada, the country’s growth is expected to accelerate to 1.9% in 2017 as the energy sector puts less of a drag on the economy, exports manage a slightly better performance and government stimulus ramps up.

Promotional products, also known as advertising specialties, freebies and giveaways, are logoed items like pens, caps and T-shirts used by companies and organizations to advertise their brand, publicize events and thank clients and employees. According to ASI’s Global Advertising Specialties Impressions Study, promotional products are a high-impact, cost-effective ad medium that allows even small companies to achieve as high an ROI as major corporations.
